The HHMI combined with a virtual reality visual system creates ultra-deep virtual immersion for a remote pilot. Real-time head and body movements are tied to a three dimensional perceived visual and audio sphere. Camera systems and sensors onboard the drone feed real-time video and data. High quality, binaural audio is provided through sound canceling headphones replicating the actual, real-time sounds at the remote UVS, or providing a crystal clear communications channel.
With the full virtual immersion into the real-time conditions onboard the UVS created by the HHMI, the pilot does not just fly the UVS, the pilot is the UVS.
